According to the way of crowding, Kelly bars consist of four types:
1. Friction Kelly bars
Every single element consists of a tube with weld-on stepless ribs. The downward thrust is transmitted by friction. The No. of ribs can be three or six.
2.Inter- Locking Kelly bars
Every single element consists of a tube with weld-on ribs with steps set at a variable distance related to the stroke of the pull-down cylinder. The downward thrust from the pull-down cylinder is transmitted by mechanical locking.
3. Multi-locking Kelly bars
Every single element consists of a tube with weld-on ribs with continuous steps. The downward thrust from the pull-down cylinder is transmitted by mechanical locking.
4. Partial-locking Type
3 or 1 outer elements are of locking type; 2 inner sections are of friction type.
